VI.   HOW DOES MAN STAND BEFORE GOD?
  1. As people come to know how great and wonderful God is, they want to know what God thinks of them. Does He know me? What does He think of me?

  2. God knows and loves all people (John 3:16).   HINT: Click references to view scriptures.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

  3. He wants everyone to come and live with Him in heaven for all eternity (2 Peter 3:9; 1 Timothy 2:3-4).
"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:3-4)
However, sin destroys our relationship with God and our hope of going to heaven when we die.
    1. Sin is the violation of God's law (1 John 3:4).
"Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. (1 John 3:4)
Sin separates us from God. Why? Because a perfect, just, and holy God cannot overlook sin, or pretend that sin is not significant. Sin matters to God!
    2. "But your have you from your ; And your sins have His face from you, So that will not " (Isaiah 59:2).
"But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. (Isaiah 59:2)
    3. "For the of is death. . . ." (Romans 6:23).
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
